That’s the warning from Port St. Lucie police after a customer found a skimmer on a bank ATM.
Police say he called them Sunday afternoon when he attempted to use the machine at a SunTrust Bank in the 1300 block of NW St. Lucie West Boulevard.
Police say when the customer withdrew his debit card a green plastic cover fell into his hand and he noticed that there was glue and wires inside it.
After police arrived they discovered a panel that contained a battery-operated camera above the ATM keypad.
Police say thieves use the cameras to read the numbers on debit cards.
If you have any information you are urged to call the Port St. Lucie Police Department at (772) 871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273 TIPS.
