A fight between two girls has led to the arrest of a mother of one of the girls.
Heather Salerno, 53, faces charges of child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and disorderly conduct, according to Port St. Lucie Police.
Investigators say she took her 15-year-old daughter to a park to fight a 16-year-old girl and it was videotaped.
Police say a dispute between the teens began late last month when unwanted text messages were sent from the other teen to Salerno's daughter.
Police became involved and say they left a message for the 16-year-old and her parents to stop the texting.
A few days later police say an investigator met with Salerno for an update and learned the texting had not stopped. According to police, Salerno told the investigator that she took care of the problem by bringing her daughter to Sportsman’s Park to fight the other teen.
Salerno even produced a video of the fight which police said showed the mother egging on the action.
There is also a second video that shows Salerno pushing the 16-year-old who was on top of her daughter, an arrest affidavit states.
It’s unclear if either teen was injured.
When asked why she didn’t bring up the texting issue with the school Salerno said it was addressed with a teacher but nothing was done, according to the arrest report.
Police arrested Salerno and took her to the St. Lucie County Jail.
