Local missionaries to ship supplies to Haiti

At Missionary Flights International in Fort Pierce, Kevin Stratton needs help to pack his plane.

"Up to six or seven thousand pounds of relief supplies," says Stratton.

Once Hurricane Matthew moves through Haiti, Stratton will head south.

"Directly to the communities that need them."

Missionary Flights International schedules plane rids frequently to Haiti, but once they knew Matthew was going to hit the county, he sent out a call for help.

"It would be nice to have multiple planes loaded with supplies that we can take down between the next two weeks."

Heather Comis suggested non-perishable items, but that's not all.

"We could use some medical supplies, tarps, shovels, things that would enable a person to dig out and be sustained," says Comis.

Stratton expects to fly down as early as Friday.
