FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) — An environmental advocacy group is leading a clean-up of Florida beaches where hundreds of cans of coffee have washed ashore.

Oceana is organizing the cleanup at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park on Saturday.

The U.S. Coast Guard says at least 25 containers slipped off a barge last weekend between Port Canaveral and West Palm Beach.

A few days later, hundreds of coffee cans started washing ashore beaches on Florida's Space Coast and Treasure Coast.

Oceana officials say the cans and other barge debris could pose a threat to sea turtles, surfers and boaters.
