In the shadows of the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce, the Council of American Islamic Relations was eager to condemn the actions of Joseph Schreiber.
Schreiber is the man deputies say set fire to the mosque.
Both WIlfredo Ruiz and Omar Saleh used the same words to describe Schreiber as they did with the man who killed 49 people at Pulse nightclub.
"Person who does an action like this is a degenerate. He's a punk and he does not speak on behalf of his religion," says Saleh.
"This is for certain the worst attack on an Islamic Center of worship in Florida, in the history of Florida," says Ruiz.
Now with an arrest made, parishioners like Bebe Alladin can focus on cleaning up and rebuilding.
"It's sad what happened and it's not right. It's not fair to us," says Alladin.
There is extensive damage to the mosque, however members and the council made it clear the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce will be rebuilt.
"Rebuilding and starting to worship here again as soon as possible," says Ruiz.
A number of community members have offered their support to rebuild.
