Fort Pierce police said a 33-year-old woman was shot in the hand Wednesday night.
Spokesman Ed Cunningham said it happened in the 400 block of North 20th Street near Avenue D around 9 p.m.
The victim suffered injuries that were not life threatening, said Cunningham.
It is not clear what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
