The St. Lucie County Fire District said a Thursday afternoon house fire in Port St. Lucie appears to have been started after lightning struck the roof.
The fire occurred in the 600 block of Hamberland Ave. just before 5 p.m.
Pictures tweeted by the fire district showed firefighters attacking flames on the roof of the single-story house.
Crews said the fire quickly spread throughout the home.
The Red Cross was called to assist three adults, a child and a dog.
No injuries were reported.
