ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two men were arrested after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of money, drugs, and a convicted felon with a firearm in St. Lucie County Tuesday.

Undercover detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop and they witnessed the occupants of the vehicle trying to hide something before stopping.

Once stopped, detectives say a .40 caliber Glock firearm with extended magazine was found at the feet of Alexander Fuentes, a convicted felon and a documented Vatos Locos gang member.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office says Fuentes had approximately $3,500 in cash on him and a shoe box that contained an additional $884 in cash and 13 grams of cocaine.

The driver, Onel Nonnombre was charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Once he arrived at the jail, more drugs were found stashed in the rear of the patrol vehicle.

Fuentes was charged with possession of a weapon or ammo by a convicted felon and held on a $35,000 bond. Nonnombre was charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement and held on a $10,000 bond.
