What do you do when 14,500 pennies are dropped in your lap?
If you are the St. Lucie County Clerk's Office you roll with it.
Two people recently cited for being in possession of saltwater fish without a valid license were each fined $72.50 by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officer.
When it came time to pay, they dropped off 14,500 pennies to the clerk's office.
That was not a problem for St. Lucie County Clerk Joseph E. Smith and his staff. He says 17 clerks counted and rolled pennies for 2 hours.
He tweeted that his team "comes together to knock out any challenge."
