There's a new project in western Boca Raton that could affect property values for people living in the area, which is drawing some concerns from neighbors.
Those residents are getting ready for a public meeting on Tuesday night to speak out about the proposed plans at Boca Dunes Golf Course and Country Club.
Developers want to build more about 400 single-family homes at the location off Lyons Road in western Boca Raton.
The area is outside city limits, so the county has to give approval on the project.
Signs have been placed around the area by Palm Beach County officials, signifying the proposed zoning changes.

“How’s that going to impact us? Crime, police presence, public services, schools?" said Michael Dropkin, who opposes the proposed suburban Boca Raton development.
It has been a nationwide trend to close golf courses and build over it. Residents in other projects around the area have even thrown out the idea of getting reimbursed on what they originally paid for, which was the nice view. They now fear that home values will decrease once the golf course is replaced with construction.
The public is invited to the 7:30 p.m. meeting on Tuesday at the Boca Lago Clubhouse.
