The Palm Beach Zoo had a very special leap day today after animal keeper Emily Maple surprised her boyfriend with a marriage proposal.
Maple has dated Rob “BJ” Lesko for eight years and, of course, he said yes! Maple said she wanted to pop the question in keeping with family tradition when her mom also proposed to her dad on leap day. The two have now been married for 43 years.
My mom asked my dad to marry her, so I’m hoping it’s a good luck charm,” Maple said.
“He’s here, He’s here,” she gleefully asked to confirm after being told Lesko had arrived for the surprise.
