A man suspected in a deadly shooting in Delray Beach has turned himself in, according to Delray Beach police.

Delinord Dumercy is being cooperative with detectives, police say.

He's suspected of walking into a Chevron gas station at Atlantic Avenue and Congress Avenue Thursday around 10 p.m. and shooting James Peoples at point-blank range.

Store clerk Rafiq Jaman said he heard 3 gunshots and called 911.  "Yes I was scared, because I am moving and trying to call the police. I was afraid and worried. Because 3 fires." There were 3 shots? he was asked. "3 shots, yeah."

Police say the shooting appeared to involve domestic issues and was an isolated incident.

They say Dumercy told detectives where to find the gun used in the homicide.

They say it was found a short time later near the crime scene.

Police plan to charge Dumercy with 1st degree murder with a firearm.
