A Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office investigation has determined that off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy Shatara K. Shatara was justified using deadly force when he shot his 21-year-old son Khamis last December.
The fatal shooting happened at the Franklin Apartment Homes in Delray Beach.
Shatara was asleep when he heard his son arguing and becoming violent with the deputy’s wife and he saw him choking her to the point of unconsciousness, according to the report.
The deputy told Khamis several times to stop and when he didn’t Shatara fired a weapon and killed him instantly, the report states.
The State Attorney's Office says no charges will be filed in the case.
