Delray Beach police say one person has died and another was hurt after a shooting that occurred Tuesday evening.
Detectives said the shooting happened at 9:40 p.m. and believe two men fired shots at each other in the 800 block of Southwest 1st Street.
Both were hit by bullets and ran in different directions. Nearby officers said they heard multiple shots and began looking for victims, who both collapsed blocks away.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue responded and transported them to Delray Medical Center, where one victim later died. Detectives have recovered two guns.
