While Black Friday is the main event for some, others are looking ahead to Saturday for their shopping needs.

November 26 2016 is dubbed 'Small Business Saturday'.

The promotion was created by American Express back in 2010.

It's a day for mom and pop stores to show off the benefits of shopping local.

Small businesses from the Treasure Coast down to South Palm Beach County say it has proven to be one of the busiest shopping days of the year for them.

American Express says in 2015, Small Businesses Saturday generated $16 billion dollars in sales nationwide.

95 million people shopped small during last year’s promotion.
