A convicted Delray Beach rapist, who was released from prison, is again accused of sexual assault and several other charges.

On Friday, Robert Maldonado, 38, appeared before a judge.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says he entered a woman's house, kidnapped her and then raped her in a parking lot.

On Thursday night, he was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail for attempted murder, sexual battery, home invasion, kidnapping and possession of drugs.

According to records, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison for a violent incident in 2000.

Authorities say he broke into a woman's home, tied her hands, fractured her skull with a crowbar and raped her at knifepoint. He is being held without bond.
