A 17-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash Saturday morning in Delray Beach.

Police say the boy, identified as Antonio DeJesus Medina Ojeda of West Palm Beach, was headed westbound on Linton Boulevard at 8:19 a.m., driving a Kawasaki Ninja when he attempted to pass a turning vehicle at a high rate of speed.

At that same time, a Dodge Ram pickup came out of Catherine Drive and attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Linton Boulevard to turn east.

The truck and motorcycle collided and Ojeda was thrown from his vehicle. Though he was wearing a helmet, it came off after the impact.

Delray Beach Fire Rescue treated the teen and transported him to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information on this crash can report it to THI Investigator Ron Brown at 561-243-7800.
