The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said one person was killed Monday in a deadly three-vehicle crash in western Boca Raton.
The wreck happened on Powerline Road, north of SW 18th Street.
PBSO said vehicle 2 was northbound on Powerline Road and stopped within the right turn lane at SW 18th Street.
Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound on Powerline Road approaching vehicle 2.
Vehicle 1 failed to stop and crashed into the rear of vehicle 2.
Vehicle 1 continued northbound, crossing SW 18th Street at a high rate of speed within the inside lane.
Vehicle 1 lost control and veered to the left, driving up onto the raised median and striking a tree on the passenger side.
Vehicle 3 was traveling southbound within the inside lane. Vehicle 1 entered the roadway in the path of Vehicle 3. The front driver side of Vehicle 3 struck the rear driver side of Vehicle 1.
The name of the person who was killed has not been released.
