Skimmer devices have been found on 6 different gas pumps at five locations in Boynton Beach over the last month.
The devices, which steal users' credit card information, were located on pumps at the following gas stations:
- Exxon Mobil, 290 N. Congress Ave.
- Chevron, 645 W. Boynton Beach Blvd.
- Sunoco, 2403 S. Federal Hwy. (one was found in March, one found in April)
- Shell, 111 E. Woolbright Rd.
- 7-Eleven, 7044 Lawrence Rd.
The Boynton Beach Police Department recommends that you go inside the gas station to pay.
Always look for a security sticker on the pump. If there is no sticker, or it is torn, you should use another pump or pay inside and notify the staff.
