A 24-year-old woman was arrested for the armed carjacking of a 25-year-old Boynton Beach woman Sunday evening.

The incident happened at the Walmart at 3200 Old Boynton Road around 10:30 p.m.

Officials say the victim was approached by the suspect, Euvenslada Lopez, while picking up her wallet from the trunk of her 2011 white BMW, parked at the Walmart parking lot.

Lopez approached the victim and told her not to move. She pushed an unknown object against the victim’s side and implied that she had a gun.

The victim told her to take it all and ran toward the entrance of Walmart screaming for help. Lopez sped out of the parking lot in the victim’s BMW.

Officers located Lopez exiting I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard. After a short chase the pursuit was terminated due to severe weather and unsafe road conditions.

Lantana police located the BMW occupied by Lopez  at 320 Pine Street in Lantana.

Lopez was positively identified by the victim and charged with carjacking with a firearm or weapon. She was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.
