Motorcyclist killed in Boynton Beach crash ID'd

UPDATE: The motorcyclist killed in the Boynton Beach crash Friday has been identified as 45-year-old Ernesto Coronel. 

The driver of the Chevrolet Venture van was identified as 41-year-old Shannon Flores. She was taken to the hospital for chest pains.


BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a van in Boynton Beach Friday.

Boynton Beach police say the traffic fatality occurred in the 1100 block of N. Congress Avenue.

A motorcycle collided with a red Chevy van. The motorcyclist died at the scene, according to police.

The driver of the van was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

As of 6 p.m., the northbound lanes of Congress Avenue are shut down from the 900 block to the 1100 block. Motorists are urged to seek an alternate route.
