BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A Boynton Beach mom says crossing six lanes of traffic is too risky for her daughter. Recently, Vania Nicar, says her 11-year-old Stephanie Nicar has done it too often in order to get home from her school bus stop.

Vania says her daughter is supposed to get dropped off on the north side of Hypoluxo Road across from Freedom Shores Elementary.

Vania provided emails dated September 2018, she says are from A&S Transportation that proves her claims about the official drop off location.

She says she also reached out to the Transportation company for an explanation, “they told me their GPS is showing the bus is traveling westbound.”

However, videos recorded by Stephanie and her father show the bus driver dropping her off on the wrong side of Hypoluxo Road.

Stephanie says the change was daunting, "scary especially with no one being there like crossing guards."

Stephanie has had some close calls since the change, "one girl she had to scream I could hear her scream," she explains, "she was screaming at her dad because her dad almost hit me. So, there’s been multiple times where people have almost hit me.”

Vania says at the end of the day she’s left disappointed, ”I trust my child with them to get her there safely to the correct destination and the videos show that’s not happening.”

WPTV news crews waited for Stephanie at her bus stop Monday afternoon. Surprisingly the A&S driver dropped her off at the right stop.

According to Vania, that’s the first time in three weeks. We are waiting to get an official statement from A&S.
