BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Karaoke night at Dunkin’ has become a Tuesday tradition for a group in Boynton Beach.

The donut shop, located just south of Park Vista High School on Jog Rd., started the tradition more than a year ago when Ziggy Galit asked the owner for a karaoke night.

Ziggy is part of the Florida Retired For Old Men and Woman Eating Out, and the group would often meet at Dunkin’.

Every Tuesday, they all grab a mic and bust out a song.

"People were sitting around and they were lonely and sad and I wanted to make them happy," said Galit.

Craig Rader, who owns the Dunkin' location, said he thought it was an excellent idea when Ziggy pitched it.

"It brings the community together, is what it is," said Rader.

While most of the singers are retired, the crowd has had a loyal younger audience attend on Tuesdays.

Julie Faour, 15, has been coming for the last few months.

"It is very laid back and chill," said Faour. She added the karaoke night helps her with her singing.

Galit said anyone is welcome to perform, and the group is always adding additions.

Anyone, no matter your age, cans show up on Tuesdays around 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dunkin’ located at 8324 Jog Rd. in Boynton Beach.

For more information, Ziggy Galit can be reached at 210-362-9400.
