Police in Boynton Beach said a woman did her best Ebenezer Scrooge impersonation overnight, ripping 21 ornaments off the city's Christmas tree.
Officers said Samantha Presendieu,19, of Lake Worth, Fla., tore the ornaments off the tree then smashed them on the ground.
The vandalism also damaged the lights on the tree and the star placed at the top.
During their investigation, officers found three women walking on the sidewalk close to the tree. A witness identified Presendieu as the person responsible.
Police said she also trespassed on the Schoolhouse Children's Museum in Boynton Beach.
Presendieu was charged with criminal mischief over $1,000 and trespassing on school grounds after being warned.
Boynton Beach police said she posted bail and was released Wednesday morning.
