A Boynton Beach man is locked onto giving to others.

He's donating 22 inches of his long, luscious locks to Locks of Love in honor of his father.

"I just read to make one wig it takes 8 inches of hair," said Eliot Rosado. "Let's start the wig with mine."

Eliot's father was diagnosed with cancer in 2014. He underwent surgery, recovered, and is now cancer free.

In honor of his dad's courage, Eliot is chopping off his hair with the help of stylist Karen Pflieger. She's been a stylist for more than 30 years, six of them in Delray Beach. This is the first time she's cut a man's hair for Locks of Love.

"I do any cuts for a cancer cause and it's free no matter what, but to have a guy with all that hair, it's priceless. I didn't bat an eyelash,” said Pflieger.

It took Eliot six years to grow out his hair. It took less then six seconds to cut it off.

"Oh yeah, it's gone," said Rosado. "I don't have to comb it. I'll save money on shampoo, too!”

22 inches of hair will now be donated to Locks of Love. Eliot said he'll keep his buzzed haircut for now and then grow out his hair again for another cause.
