Police first learned about a possible shooting from shot spotter but they didn't find anything. They then received a 911 call about a driver slumped at the wheel on the on-ramp of I-95 from Woolbright.
Investigators, who were searching for shell cases, haven't disclosed the exact location of the shooting. It was somewhere between the ramp and Eighth Street.
Jeannine Marsico told WPTV's Ethan Stein she heard a shot but didn't know where it came from.
“It was very distinctive," she said. "I said to my husband that was a gun and he was looking around … but I didn’t see anything.”
Woolbright Road from the Interstate 95 overpass to Southwest Eighth Street was closed as well as the I-95 southbound ramp in a police Facebook post.
