1 dead, several injured in Boynton Beach crash

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- One person is dead and several others injured after a crash in Boynton Beach Friday night.

The Boynton Beach Police Department says the traffic fatality occurred on SW 18th Drive and W. Woolbright Road around 7:30 p.m.

A Chevy Blazer was traveling westbound on Woolbright Road when a Lincoln Town Car driven by 86-year-old Joseph Emil Du Chateau pulled out in front of it from SW 18th Drive.

Du Chateau died at the scene. 85-year-old Robert James Balint was a passenter in the front seat of the Lincoln. He sustained serious injuries.

The unidentified rear passenger of the Lincoln is in critical condition at Delray Trauma Center. The driver of the Chevy was taken to Bethesda Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Eastbound Woolbright Road was shut down Friday night while officials continue their investigation.
