Boca Raton held a Veterans Day observance Friday.
The city honored servicemen and servicewomen during a morning ceremony.
One Air Force veteran in attendance said he followed his father into the service.
“My father passed away this July and today is his birthday which is something else we got to celebrate, Veterans Day and his birthday,” said Bill Conder.
Speakers highlighted struggles some veterans face. The American Legion estimates 50,000 veterans are homeless.
