A Macy’s employee is accused of defrauding its Boca Raton store of more than $3,000, Boca Raton police say.
A loss prevention officer caught Tatyana Sigley creating fraudulent gift card sales and taking cash out of registers for herself, according to an arrest report.
The officer said Sigley would also keep customer receipts and return merchandise for cash and store credit.
When questioned, the officer said in the report Sigley admitted to the fraudulent transactions.
Video surveillance in the store captured Sigley during the transactions, the report states. The total loss from the alleged transitions is $3,620.84
Sigley is charged with grand theft and fraud. She was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail and was released on $6,000 bond. A judge ordered her to not have contact with any Macy’s store.
