A record number of students started school Monday at Lynn University. The Boca Raton university welcomed its largest undergraduate class in 10 years and largest graduate class in history.
Administrators point to how the university incorporates iPads into the curriculum as a draw for students. Every student receives an iPad Pro at the beginning of the school year.
For faculty and administrators who have been on campus all summer, they said seeing the campus swell to nearly 3,000 people is refreshing.
“The summer is somewhat of a quieter time,” said Gareth Fowles, the Vice President for Enrollment Management. “So to see thousands of students coming to campus is really wonderful. The university today will welcome over 1,000 new students.”
About 25 percent of the incoming class is from another country. Fowles said the student population is made up of people from 44 states and more than 100 countries.
