Jury selection is set to begin in the murder case against a former Florida Atlantic University freshman soccer player.
Donovan Henry is accused of killing another student, Nicholas Acosta.
Boca Raton detectives say the victim’s girlfriend said Acosta had sold pot out of his University Park apartment in the past and that Acosta gave out the access code to clients to get inside the building.
On the night of the shooting, December 29, 2015, the girlfriend opened the door to two men, one of whom she recognized.
A few moments later she says three more men forced their way inside and Acosta was shot.
Four men including Henry were charged in connection to Acosta’s death.
Rodrick Woodspleaded guilty to second degree murder with a firearm; he’s expected to be sentenced in January and will testify against Henry.
