An Uber driver suffered an attempted robbery in Boca Raton early Thursday morning. The gun fired at him traveled through his hat, according to Boca Raton police.

The victim, Jeffrey Brown, told officers he parked his car in the lot at 6070 North Federal Highway while waiting for a call service when he saw a faded red mid-sized SUV enter the parking lot and park on the side of his car.

According to Brown, three males got out of the SUV and two approached his driver's side window, pointing guns at him and demanding he get out of the car. The suspect driver also got out of the SUV, after Brown did not respond.

One suspect pointed the gun directly at the victim. Brown rolled up his window and started to drive away. The suspect fired the gun. A bullet entered Brown’s car and traveled through his hat, but Brown was not injured, officials said.

Brown described all four suspects as black males, all in their late teens to late 20's. The driver was average height with short, braided hair and gold teeth. Two suspects were described as about 6' tall and stockier, wearing all black clothing.
