That’s when a Toyota Avalon driven by Abel Castin, 22, of Lantana hit a Dodge Neon driven by Mario A. Carrasco, 54, of Orlando, according to the FHP.

The Dodge then veered to the right shoulder while the Toyota veered left, struck a concrete barrier wall and then struck the trooper in a Chevy Tahoe, according to an FHP report.

The trooper, identified as Tommie Rodriguez, received minor injuries.

Castin was seriously injured while Carrasco was not hurt.
