BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a Palm Beach County man who claimed someone else's dead child as a dependent to commit tax fraud has pleaded guilty.
The Palm Beach Post reports the U.S. Attorney's Office said Tuesday that 32-year-old Johny Wolf Jasmin of Boca Raton pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the government and one count of aggravated identity theft.
Court documentssay Jasmin obtained the name, date of birth and Social Security number of a child who had died and used that information to claim the child as a dependent on his 2014 federal income tax return.
The newspaper reports Jasmin, who owned and operated a Hollywood tax-service business, Wolf Vision, was one of 61 people charged in November as part of a larger federal investigation.
He faces sentencing June 3.
