EARLIER STORY: The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said an 88-year-old man has been missing since noon Sunday.
PBSO said in a written statement that Arthur Arden Shachner drove away from his residence in the 23000 block of Torre Circle in western Boca Raton and has not been seen or heard from since.
Shachner was driving a 2017 bronze, four-door, Volkswagen Jetta with the Florida tag HUDW77.
He was last seen wearing a short sleeve blue collared shirt, dark slacks and brown shoes. He is believed to have the onset of dementia.
PBSO considers him to be a missing and possibly endangered adult. A silver alert was issued at 9:35 p.m. Sunday.
Anyone that should come into contact with Shachner is urged to contact PBSO dispatch at 688-3400 or the nearest law enforcement agency.
