OKEECHOBEE, Fla. — The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office says a shooting complaint at a Walmart on Friday turned out to be a hoax.

The store, located at 2101 S. Parrott Avenue, was evacuated while deputies investigated the source of the threat. The Walmart is now back open and the public is safe, the sheriff's office said.

OCSO said no other businesses, schools, or public county-run agencies were affected during the investigation.

Anyone with information about the Walmart threat should call the Okeechobee City Police Department at 863-763-5521.
