A man in Okeechobee faces charges after one of his roommates was killed and the other was stabbed in the face earlier this month.
The homicide occurred Oct. 14 at a home in the 1600 block of NW 45th Terrace.
One of those victims said the suspect, Mark Glen Deschamps, 47, was acting bizarre and then attacked him, stabbing him in the face.
The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office said Deschamps then killed their female roommate, identified as Flavia Escobar-Munoz, by stabbing her in the chest.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they said they found the suspect in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine.
Deschamps faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, along with charges for possession of methamphetamine and a firearm while being a convicted felon.
