The Florida Highway Patrol said a husband and wife were driving on the Turnpike Wednesday near Palm Beach Gardens when their verbal fight turned violent.

Troopers and emergency crews were dispatched to the northbound lanes just south of PGA Boulevard.

What began as a verbal altercation between a husband and wife escalated, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman, identified as Scarleth Guadamuz, 26, of Fern Park, Fla., is accused of taking out a nail clipper, or sharp object that wasn't a knife, and stabbing the man with it, an FHP spokesman said.

He was treated at the scene, and Guadamuz was arrested and charged with battery.

During a Thursday morning court hearing, Guadamuz was ordered to have no contact with weapons, no violent contact with her spouse and no contact with the victim's daughter without adult supervision.

The judge said Guadamuz's husband did not want to press charges.
