A lockdown has been lifted at William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens.
Officials originally said that it was put into effect for a time because of police activity off campus.
Dwyer's principal later sent this message to parents:
Good afternoon, Dwyer High parents. This is Principal Joe DePasquale with an update about the lockdown at our school earlier today.
This afternoon, a threat was called into the school’s office. The school was placed on lockdown while School Police began their investigation. The threat was determined to be false, and School Police detectives are investigating the source of this unsubstantiated threat to our school.
We take all threats seriously, whether they are to students or our schools. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Thank you.
The Code Red @DwyerHS has been lifted and students have been released from school.
