Locals gathered Saturday to protest the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission plan to conduct a bear hunt.
The protest came at the height of the campaign to save Florida's black bears.
It was one of 28 other protests held statewide.
" So we are here today to create some more bear awareness and hopefully to engage some other folks in this fight along with us today, " said a protestor.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will officially make their decision this month whether they will hold another bear hunt.
