Several dozen stood in the rain Saturday morning in hopes of letting their voices be heard.

The Palm Beach County Environmental Coalition held a protest against the Scripps Biotech site planned for the area near Briger forest.

The group says Scripps has failed to produce a hazardous waste plan that protects people living in the surrounding communities.

They say they want to know how the company plans to test and dispose toxic chemicals.

“Fight to the end; whatever we can do,” Sandra Quirk said. “You know it might be a losing battle but you know, we’re kind of the little guy and there have been greater battles that have been won by even smaller underdogs.”

Tonight the group is having a meeting to discuss their concerns at the Stonzek Theater in Lake Worth. It starts at 8 p.m. Scripps has yet to return Newschannel 5’s calls for comment.
