PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.- Dozens of people will participate in a golf tournament today to raise money for future teachers.
The tournament is in memory of Barry Grunow, a former Lake Worth Middle School teacher.
On the last day of school, May 26, 2000, Grunow was was shot and killed by a student in the doorway of his classroom.
The 4th annual tournament will take place in Grunow’s memory.
To date, the scholarship fund has given more than $116,000 to 112 students.
The Barry Grunow Golf Tournament starts at 8:30 a.m. at Sandhill Crane Golf Club.
There will also be a helicopter ball drop and silent auction.
Registration is $100.
