JUPITER, Fla. — A Jupiter resident recorded video of a curious cardinal that appears to be intrigued by its reflection in her sunglasses.

The video was posted Sunday on Facebook by Karen Snyder and has already been shared more than 300 times.

Snyder said she used to have a bird feeder and would offer a treat to blue jays.

However, one day a cardinal saw her doing this and joined in looking for a snack too. She said it took about a year to get the cardinal to take food from her hand and longer for the blue jays.

Now, she says the friendly cardinal has been taking food from her hand for almost a year. Snyder said the birds often come to her window or visit her while she is in her garden several times a day.

Snyder's slow-motion video posted on Sunday features the cardinal peering into her sunglasses before grabbing a snack and flying away.
