PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- Kimberly Lucas' attorney has been removed from the case and she will be appointed a public defender.
It was revealed in court today that her attorney left the case because Lucas can no longer afford her attorney or expert witnesses.
She has a status check coming up on November 9.
Lucas is accused of murdering her partner's 2-year-old daughter and attempting to kill her son.
WPTV spoke with her former partner, Elliana Lucas-Jamason, who expressed her frustration and fears that this could delay the trial for another year.
