JUPITER, Fla. -- It's been six months since a West Palm Beach man disappeared on a surfing trip in the Dominican Republic.

Darryl Fornatora's family and friends joined together Wednesday night for a fundraiser at Burger Bar in Jupiter.

They were raising money to pay for private investigators involved in the search for Darryl.

His wallet and cellphone turned up in a search, but still no one knows why or how he went missing.

Organizers said about 80 people attended the event, raising more than $6,500.
