The K-9 killed on Christmas Eve while on duty with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is being honored tonight by a local no-kill animal shelter.
The Furry Friends gala “Denim, White Diamonds & Paws” is being held February 22, 2019 to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Jupiter/Tequesta.
The award’s version of C.I.G.O will stand for the characteristics of Courage, Integrity, Genuine, Outstanding, and being a “hero to animals,” according to Furry Friends.
Super Bowl star Joe Namath, Major League Baseball all-star Keith Hernandez, former world heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe and TV wildlife activist Jack Hannah are all expected to be in attendance.
