The Martin County Sheriff's Office says a suspect who prompted a manhunt after pulling a knife on a lawn care worker has been captured, after picking up a fight with the K-9 that located him.
The incident happened just before 9 a.m. near a Jensen Beach 7-eleven.
According to officials, the victim told deputies he was mowing the lawn when he was approached by the suspect, 39-year-old Donald Milton, who threatened him with a knife.
Milton took off on foot into a heavily wooded area along Federal Highway when police arrived at the scene.
K-9 Deputy Justin Albauer and his K-9 partner Bingo entered the woods to search for the suspect.
K-9 Deputy Bingo located Milton, who authorities say refused to comply to Deputy Albauer’s commands and began punching K-9 Bingo.
The suspect was secured and taken to Martin Memorial Hospital for observation.
He will be charged with aggravated assault, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.
