STUART, Fla. -- A man is under arrest after threatening to "blow up" a Martin County public transit "MARTY" bus.
According to Stuart police, Karl M. Gleissner of Hobe Sound made the threat, dropped a suspicious package onto a stranger's lap, and then exited the bus.
The bus was evacuated and U.S. 1 was closed at Baker Road for about an hour.
Stuart Police say resources from nearby agencies were called in to examine the bus and to ensure that no explosives were at the scene.
