STUART, Fla. — The FBI is investigating how the city of Stuart's computers were hacked into by ransomware.
Software is freezing up the city's computer systems and demanding ransom to fix it.
Stuart's city manager says the ransomware targeted the city over the weekend affecting communication with commissioners, police and any other city staff through email.
Police are also having to handwrite reports, but say public safety is not at risk.
