An FPL truck driving through one Stuart neighborhood was a welcome sight for power starved residents.

The goal for those crews is get power going again.

For some on the treasure coast that may be Friday night, but for others it could take a little longer.

We're told that it may be Sunday before people here in the area have their power restored.

Overall, Matthew left more than 1 million in Florida without power.

“Had a little wind, had a little rain but…it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be,” says resident Debbie Haas.

Haas chose to hang in her car rather than her house until power is restored.

“Keeping myself and my dog cool,” she says. “We know they're down the street working on it and it won't be too long.”

A total of 15 thousand personnel are working to get power going again.

FPL brought in people from as far west as Texas, and as far north as Massachusetts to help.
